We are the Salesian Sisters of the province of Great Britain, we are part a worldwide congregation also known as the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, we were founded in 1872 by St John Bosco and St Mary Domenica Mazzarello and we follow the spirituality of St. Francis of Sales. World Day of Communications.
On the feast of St Francis of Sales 24th January 2008, the Holy Father released his message for the 42nd World Day of Communication 4th May 2008. He chose the theme 'At the Crossroads between Self-Promotion and Service. Searching for the Truth in order to Share it with Others'. It is in this spirit that we have launched this new website: we wish to share with you our charism, our truth which directs our lives, we hope you enjoy browsing our pages. Provincial Assembly and Feast
Just as this site is launched the sisters will be gathering at Brettargh Holt in Kendal for their Provincial Assembly. The theme we have chosen is 'Look, I am doing something new'. It will be a time of renewal and discernment as we look to the future, and a time of celebration to give thanks for the journey we have made over the last year...watch here for news and a report on the meeting.
So Much Love
A new book by Sr Winifred Acred is now available in Bookshops. This publication is calles 'So Much Love' and is a resource for Teachers and Catechists to pray with children.
