Responses:

Why do you live in community?

Community is a place of witness and of Christian care, Don Bosco and Mary Mazzarello emphasised the importance of relationship, and community is the place where we form relationships and are formed as people through them.

How do you live financially?

We share everything, several sisters earn a salary, which goes into the provincial fund, each community then gets a certain amount to maintain the house, pay the bills and food. We do not have our own bank accounts or independent means of finanance.

What prayer moments do you share?

All our commuinties pray the prayer of the church, morning and evening prayer, we try to have mass together, though often we have to go to a local parish, some communities pray the Rosary together, and make an examen of conscience.
We also often have a salesian Goodnight, where one of the sisters will give a thought for the day.

Do you have to be a teacher to be a Salesian Sister?

No, but you do have to have a love for the young, since that is the focus of our lives, we give our lives to God, through the service of the young.

How old do you have to be to be a Salesian Sister?

To join us we ask that you be 21, however there is no harm in talking about it sooner than that if you feel you would like to.
